Join a Team That Keeps Critical Infrastructure Running
At Access, we help organizations maintain the power, cooling, monitoring, and environmental systems their operations depend on every day.
We're looking for a Service Technician who enjoys solving problems, working directly with customers, and building technical expertise across a wide range of technologies. This position supports commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments throughout Wisconsin and surrounding areas, including data centers, healthcare facilities, manufacturing operations, educational institutions, telecommunications sites, and other facilities where uptime matters.
This is more than an HVAC service role.
Our technicians work on the systems that protect business continuity, reduce operational risk, and help customers maintain reliable facility performance.
What You'll Do
As a Service Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, testing, and commissioning equipment that supports critical facility operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing commercial HVAC and precision cooling systems.
- Performing preventive maintenance and identifying potential failures before they occur.
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, controls, and system-performance issues.
- Performing equipment startup, commissioning, functional testing, and post-repair verification.
- Working with precision cooling equipment, CRAC/CRAH systems, chillers, AHUs, DOAS, VRF systems, split systems, heat pumps, and related controls.
- Supporting facility monitoring, critical power, and reliability-focused infrastructure.
- Using manufacturer documentation, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostics to determine root cause and corrective action.
- Documenting service findings, repairs, recommendations, and equipment condition.
- Communicating directly with customers regarding equipment performance and recommended next steps.
- Collaborating with our Dispatch, Service Management, Parts, and Service Operations teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintaining a safe, professional work environment while following all company and customer safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will have:
- Commercial or industrial HVAC service experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience diagnosing refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
- Ability to work independently while remaining connected with the broader service team.
- EPA certification appropriate to the work performed.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer locations.
- A commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning.
Preferred Experience
While not required, experience in any of the following areas is highly valued:
- Precision cooling systems
- Data center infrastructure
- Vertiv / Liebert equipment
- Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Controls and monitoring systems
- UPS and critical power infrastructure
- Generator support systems
- Power distribution equipment
- Manufacturer technical certifications
